Thank you for your assistance in observing this event. Please take time to read the following notes for your guidance:
TIME:
The section opening time is shown on your programme. Please be in your position on time.
SECTIONS:
The Premier (hard route) sections have RED flags on the right, BLUE on the left. Clubman (easy route) section deviations will be shown by GREEN flags on the right and WHITE on the left. Expert route riders have a green sticker on their front number plate, clubman route orange stickers. Riders attempting the “wrong” route will incur a 5.
MARKING:
A competitor will be deemed to be in an observed section from the time his front wheel spindle reaches the Start card until his front wheel spindle has cleared the Ends card.
This is a NO STOP TRIAL and marks will be lost as follows:-
For touching the ground or leaning on an obstacle with any part of the body: 1 mark
For touching (as above) twice: 2 marks
For touching (as above) more than twice: 3 marks
For failure (if the front wheel ceases forward motion in the section): 5 marks
No penalty for touching tape or marker flags (however if a tape is crossed or broken or boundary markers are dislodged by machine or person, this is a 5)
SCORE CARDS:
Punch out the marks lost on the observer boards. If you accidentally punch the wrong score, punch out all but the correct score on that line. The score cards and punches will be collected from you by the route closers as soon as the last man has gone through your section.
FLAGS:
Please pull the flags and leave them at the end of your section for collection later.
